He’d never liked daytime. Being an insomniac, the night was Jonghyun’s favourite part of the day. To him, the moon was brighter than the sun, the stars more beautiful than the clouds.
Even so, he continued his daily walk through the busy streets of Seoul, though today his destination was different. Today was his day off. Today he was meeting someone special, someone who’d quickly become important to his daily life.
He sat up shakily, his eyes round as he stared at the hole in the ground where before the land had been flat. Was it a land mine? He checked his legs in fear, sighing a great breath of relief when he realised he was in one piece. His ears were ringing, and he was still shaken. What the hell was that?
He walked to his preferred cafe, ordering “the usual”; everyone there knew him by sight. One hot chocolate and one caramel frappe, just like always. They even gave him a discount this time.
He peered over the edge of the small sized crater - more of a mess than anything else - his eyes going round in shock as he saw what was in the middle of it. A boy, no older than himself, lying there in confusion. Their eyes met and Jonghyun quickly scrambled down, doctor instinct taking over.
“Are you okay?”
He pushed open the door to the magazine company, bowing to those who saw him: everyone there knew him too. Him being there was as natural as if an employee walked in. He made his way up in the glass lift to the floor he visited all the time, grinning as he strode over. Jonghyun plonked the coffee cup down on the boy’s desk with a bright, dorky grin plastered on his face.
“How old are you? How did you get here…? What’s your name??”
“Good morning Key~”
